Space

I love photographs that use space. You don't specifically know what the subjects are doing, but the space around them gives you an indication. Or like in the photo below, the Firefighters are conducting a search for a pilot who has crashed. It's not the greatest, but the space around the subjects adds to the loneliness of being out in that field.

Where we love is home, Home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts. ~ Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.,

If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace.

What I do.

I am a photographer for the United States Air Force. What do I do? I get the question often, and the quickest answer is: We photograph personnel, equipment, and operations for the Air Force. Our core task is documentation but we do grip and grins, alert photography, retirements, and studio work also. Sometimes it sucks (like any job), but I love what I do and couldn't imagine wanting to do something else. What I enjoy most is documentation. Watching every moment of an event, staying alert, and trying to capture that crucial 250th of a second that makes a good photograph. So, that's what I do: photography.

I'm kind of a big deal...

I now have a blog. Just in case my friends, family, and associates don't get enough of my opinionated rants in real life. We'll see how long this lasts; I lose interests in things quickly.
